Tea and Toast

My regular snack after coming home from work is tea and toast. I crave tea all day as no one where i work drinks it :( I am totally addicted to tea and not being able to have even one small cup of it during the day is torture. So as soon as i come home that kettle is on. The mug i'm using is my fave at the moment. I'm going through that loving the British flag motif on everything phase. Always gotta have a couple slices of toast and jam with it too.

Also got some good news; i have an audition on Monday in Brighton. I am excited for two reasons: one; i have an audition (duh! haha) and two; i love Brighton so i'm glad to be visiting there even if it is for only a few hours!

Ring The Alarm

Thought i'd rock some red lips today. Wearing a Rimmel lipstick called Alarm. I love the tone of this red. I think it looks fab against my pale skin. It also glides on really easily.

Hoping i have a good day today. I was so bored at work yesterday!

Re-tales (geddit like retail but reTALES...nope? don't worry)

Got to work without being drenched today. Had to get the tube instead of walking from Charing Cross. I did miss my walk actually. Sometimes it's nice to just have some time to yourself to just think.

Decided that retail is not for me. As much as i love shopping i don't think i could be a sales assistant for the rest of my days. I find the days too repetitive and for someone like me who gets bored quickly i need to do something that will keep my mind active. I hate just standing at the till. Ecen though i'm getting paid i feel like i'm just wasting time! I think a career as a make up artist or actress is definitely the way to go for me. I need a creatively stimulating career.

The good thing about working at Boots is that time to time we get samples of make up. So today i tried on the FibreLash mascara. I'm sure you have probably heard of it but if not it's basically a mascara and fibres that when put together should make your eyelashes longer. I have to say i am blessed with quite long eyelashes so i didn't see much improvement in that aspect. It defintely made my lashes look thicker. You might be able to see what i mean in this awful photo.
I nearly blinded myself taking that photo. I forgot the flash was on and could see white flashes for the next five minutes haha. Anyways back to the post, would i pay £35 for it? In one word no. I'm sure a mascara for a much cheaper price would do the trick. No7 have a new mascara coming out soon so hoping to get a sample of that and at £12 it's much more affordable!

Rain, Rain, Go Away!!

Me this morning before i brave the awful weather. No doubt my hair will be ruined by the rain. Hello frizz! Wearing a yellow top to add some sunshine to this drab day.

Hola Ombre

Today, after much umming and ahhing, i decided to dye my hair ombre style. It's the popular hair trend where your hair goes from being dark at the roots to being very light at the ends.

I was apprehensive to dye it myself as the last time i attempted to lighten my hair it went quite wrong. Ginger roots anyone? I used a L'Oreal hair dye made for dark hair but it was awful. It completely mucked up the colour and made my hair dry and when it was wet it  terribly knotty. After looking it up it seems the product was faulty. I found out that L'Oreal products are infamous for turning hair ginger as they don't put any kind of blue or purple toner in their hair dye. After that awful experience i swore i would never dye my hair myself again....

However a year on i managed to build up the courage to lighten my hair again. I've always liked beachy, messy hair and i always wear my hair wavy so i decided ombre would be the way to go. I looked up 'diy ombre hair' online and found llymrs post on how she did it. The only thing that made my heart sink was the she had used a L'Oreal highlighting product. After more investigation i found Lily re-did her hair with a Jerome Russell kit and her hair was very blonde at the ends (much like how i had envisaged mine). I proceeded then to look up reviews to see if anyone had experienced any disasters and thankfully no one had so then and there i new this was the kit for me.

Plucked up the courage this morning and with a little help from my mum, two thirty minutes applications i am now sporting the ombre style. I am more than happy with how it turned out. The dye exceeded my expectations and i was left with lovely caramel tones and not a smidgen of ginger in sight.
